Jeep Renegade: Power

This compact SUV lets you choose between two powerful engine options, depending on your trim level:

• 1.3L 4-Cylinder Direct Injection Turbo Engine: 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque
• 2.4L Tigershark MultiAir 2 Engine: 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque

Despite their power, both engines are very focused on efficiency, too. For example, the 1.3L 4-Cylinder Direct Injection Turbo engine combines Engine Stop/Start Technology with a nine-speed automatic transmission. This helps it achieve a fuel economy rating of up to 32 highway MPG¹.

Jeep Renegade: Capabilities

The Jeep Renegade SUV also offers tons of available capability-promoting technologies, including the following:

• Jeep Active Drive 4x4 System - This is the first of the two possible 4x4 systems. It’ll help you stay in control regardless of what the road and the weather conspire to test you with. All in all, it’s a very versatile system.
• Jeep Active Drive Low System - Your second option results in a 21:1 crawl ratio… perfect for adventuring.
• Selec-Terrain Traction Management - Speaking of adventuring, this system lets you decide which mode you want to drive in: Snow, Sand, Mud, or Auto. It also has a Rock mode, available on only the Trailhawk^Ò trim levels.
• Hill Descent Control - This feature can also come in handy in a variety of situations. It will monitor your braking, speed, and throttle when you’re attempting to go down a treacherous incline. It can even adjust to keep you moving at a steady speed.

It’s also perfect for cargo—in other words, the best of both worlds. You can keep all the seats in place and stow 18.5 cubic feet of cargo in the back. You can also drop the second row and take that number all the way up to 50.8 cubic feet. Either way, you shouldn’t have any problems bringing your stuff with you. The cabin also includes a variety of other smaller storage spaces, including overhead console storage, passenger door bins, a glove box, and everything else that you’d expect from a great Jeep SUV.
